i feel im in deep trouble, all my fears that were associated with playing WoW are starting to take place…
for a while i’ve stayed away from playing this game, through hsc, uni etc. even when my friends were trying to get me to play i kept asking myself y would sum1 pay to play a game? and observing the many addicts of mmo’s i was aware that if i played it, i could get hooked.
finally i’d given in, and ironically because of uni :S. after not being able to get onto the official forums i signed up to one of those 10 free day trial accounts, expecting to then b able to log onto the forums i was dismayed to find out u needed a currently paid subscription account!! so the next best thing i decided mite try and actuli ask ppl on WoW (the game).
friday morning was spent downloading the game as well as its several hundred patches (didnt finish till about 2pm). finally i logged on created my character and was entered into the wonderful world of azeroth. never before hav i really got into an rpg (except kinda diablo2), usually mostly an FPS man, but quikly my cravings to play FarCry (since ubisoft released it for free last week) were replaced by this game.
i was quickly helped out by a few players who showed me around and i found my self losing track of time and even forgetting why i got the game in the first place. and im reluctant to say that during these past 2 days if i wasnt working, sleeping, eating or with friends, i was playing wow… as of yet i still havnt done any work, but im determined to in the next few days, luckily my posts on the other forums hav gotten well amounts of feedback, i think i hav a total of about 40 responses so far from various sources.
i will focus today on getting some assignments done! …that is if i can ignore the whispers of the teldrassil forest calling me in… crap!

after 2 failed attempts at gettin ppl 2 answer my question on wow forums i found another two and took a different approach
ppl just seem 2 not want 2 answer surveys for research even tho its lik 1 frikin question!!
so i just said i was curious as to why ppl play haha
on neoseeker i got sum answers, but the answers from that forum were all from males aged 15-25 who played wow bcoz they were bored (i guess their on that forum bcoz they are bored as well so not 2 good) so prob not 2 reliable
but then i realised i had an activ xfire account and thats almost as good as wow forums. from xfire forums i got a range of answers but no ages as of yet, but their forums included the ability to add polls and that proved better than ppl having to reply.
but i still need more, and im thinking the best way would b to get onto the official wow forums and mayb even in WoW itself. I can either find sum1 who still plays wow or get one of those 10 free days accounts. but im a lil scared i may get hooked while im sposed to be doing assignments :S lol. hopefully i find sum1 b4 submitting to teh dark side…

ok so I’ve finally got something up for WoWGo. more work to do though, wat do u think?
i spent like all afternoon tryin 2 get it 2 fit in both firefox and IE as well as doin that logo
and everythin but that embeded blog widget is valid so thats good

(oh and i even tried it on my psp, kinda works when smart-fit is enabled)

After making the slides for preso’s and talkin to Kaz about what to include in them, he said something that i had completely overlooked, items! and giving people reasons to play WoWGo rather than just playin at home. So items found while walking around in the real world could b used in azeroth (hows that wow players??) .
This would incourage ppl to actuli constantly play while they are out and about incase they stumble upon good items. My idea was to make it possible to hav the game switched off if u dont want 2 b distracted by ppl tryin 2 fight u on the street, but having the ability to benifit from just walking around makes much more sense and would lead to more ppl being ”online” or connected to Earth’s alter ego dimension (eartheroth? azerearth? :P meaning the real world played as ur avatar :S) which would mean there would b more of a chance of bein able to find other players on the street.
Other iddy bits of the game are still bein developed (really just thought of) and it would help if all the WoW players out there did the wow survey, well its really just choose the 1 best answer, mayb i should rename the title of that survey :S lol
Oh yes and wasnt that tut fun!!! took lik 1.5hrs most tedious thing iv dun this semester… lol man i suck but every little practice helps

A Cali chick named Sydney Leung has filed a class-action complaint accusing Apple and AT&T of fraud for failing to tell potential iPhone buyers of the costs involved in maintaining a working battery for the dang thing over the course of its lifespan.
Leung alleges the battery needs to be replaced every year by Apple alone due to the sealed rear compartment, which prevents third-party technicians and users from switching the batteries themselves without voiding the warranty. The accumulated costs of ordering the replacement, shipping, and the loaner iPhone would amount to over $100 each year on top of the three-day replacement process, she says.
